Christmas Monday What's Up?
Today I host my family's Christmas dinner. My daughter has begged me for ten years to split the holidays with her father on two different days. I finally agreed. My younger son, his girlfriend, my daughter and her family my family of origin and a friend will be here for a Polish feast, and gift exchanges. The kids are coming in the morning. The rest are coming later.
I had a quiet Christmas day. I went to an early AA meeting, and then taught a friend how to make stuffed cabbage. My sister invited me over for a quiet supper, and afterward, I beat Mom and her at Scrabble.
I hope everyone had a good Christmas, and did not overdo on the food.
Have a blessed day.
Hugs,
Trish

It's too early for me to be up and about. Will probably nap a little later. Celebrated Christmas Eve after church. Very quiet on Christmas Day. Ellen got me so many new clothes in a 1x. Hope they fit for a while. I have no more stash of different size clothes. Had fun wearing clothes this week that made me feel good. It's fun to wear dresses and nylons and nice shoes again.
Ellen is going to brave the after Christmas crowds, but I'm staying home where it's nice and warm. My friend from Florida said they were eating Christmas dinner outside. We on the other hand are in the 50's during the day and 30's at night. Whoever took our warm weather PLEASE send it back.
Wishing everyone a beautiful day with peace and calm.
As ever, Mag
I am in plantation Florida. We came down o n Saturday to visit friends and a cousin. Today we r going to look at apartments cause we r thinking of moving down here. Plantation is 230 miles south of where we r.
We had a quiet Christmas day. Went to my cousins for brunch. then went to a hugh flea market called Fiesta in Pompano Beach. I think every jew in the area was there! Then we drove to Ft Lauderdale beach. I stuck my toe in the ocean and the water was ice cold. There were kids swimming, they must have been from up north!
Well I need my coffee so I'll head down, for coffee we r in a hotel.

We are quite and happy. Not much going on. Our holiday dinner at the clubhouse was very nice, but the turkey made us so tired. Pool time scheduled, but need the clouds to move on out.
Hope all are well. Monica
We had a fun Christmas with Nic and Grace in the morning. After Grace left everything went to hell. Oh well Thanksgiving was ruined.....why not Christmas!! I can't believe my daughter is acting and doing the things she does. Poor Nic his Christmas was certainly not what he had wished for. He was angry, hurt and near tears most of the day. At least we had each other!! I would like to explain but it would be a long, long post and I am sure no one is really interested it all the crap going on here.
I am glad you all enjoyed your Christmas day.
Prayers for many in need. I am so blessed to be a part of this wonderful group of friends. You are the glue that keeps me together!!
Much love and many hugs to all....connie d
Connie,
I am so sorry that your daughter does not see what she is doing. My daughter has in the past made our holidays a living hell and every once in a while she will fall back into her old habits of trying to pick an argument by dredging up some crazy thing from her past that she blames me for. Yesterday, we were all having a wonderful time and she started reminding everyone of the time I grounded her for life. I knew if I particpated in her one sided memory, it would not end well. She wants to always make people think that she is the victim and I was the mean, unreasonable parent. Yesterday, I was ready to come home, so I just said, yep…I grounded you forever for sneaking out and drinking; I made you go to school when all you wanted to do was sleep; I didn't buy you two hundred dollar jeans; I made you clean your room…yep, I was a horrible mother so unlike your friend's mother who brought a new stepdad in to her life every year; or the other mother who took her two daughters down and got them on birthcontrol at thirteen; and let's not forget the mother of your best friend who let you and your friend smoke both pot and cigs in her house…all in all you got the mother from hell. I got my purse, told my hubby to come on, and we left. Sometimes a mother just has to set the record straight.
We are here for you ... if you need to vent, go ahead. If you don't want to put it out there in a public vent, send it in a PM. I'm here to listen. Enough people listened to my *****ing about my job (and if I didn't have this place to go, I would have been in big time trouble).
Or email me at [email protected]. I'm here for you, Connie.
I am here for you also. I have a bipolar Mom, and I am also bipolar as well. I used to act poorly and made everyday miserable for my children and family. My husband left me because of my mental illness issues. A miracle happened when my husband left, and I snapped out ot the poor behavior with my family. Unfortunately, my manic episodes now are aimed at myself, and that is what contributed to my alcohol relapses, and other self-destructive, self-defeating behaviors, like excessive shopping, or other junk like that.
I also am a PRN social worker in a psych hospital, and have worked with some pretty sick patients in the past. So, I have empathy from all angles of bipolar disorder, and other illnesses.
Feel free to e-mail me anytime, and I will let you cry on my shoulder as much as you like.
Hugs,
Trish
